Desain
Material bagian belakang Samsung Galaxy A12 menggunakan plastik dengan pola garis yang membuat ponsel ini tidak licin saat dipegang. Dengan bobot 205 gram, ponsel ini tergolong berat walaupun tetap nyaman digenggam. Dimensi ponsel ini 164 x 75.8 x 8.9 mm.
Slot dual nano SIM card dan microSD terletak di sisi kiri ponsel. Pada sisi kanan, terdapat tombol volume dan power (sekaligus sensor sidik jari). Untuk bagian bawah, terdapat port jack audio 3.5 mm, speaker, dan port USB type-c.
Display

Samsung Galaxy A12 memiliki layar berukuran 6,5 inch dengan resolusi HD+. Layar ponsel ini berdesain Infinity-V atau notch kamera depan berbentuk tetesan air. Dengan layar jenis IPS, ponsel ini nyaman dipandang walaupun digunakan untuk bermain game atau streaming film dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Kekurangan pada layarnya adalah tampilan kurang begitu tajam saat di bawah terik matahari.
Performa
Dapur pacu Samsung Galaxy A12 mengandalkan System-on-Chip (SoC) MediaTek Helio P35 dengan paduan pilihan RAM 4 GB atau 6 GB. Dengan RAM yang besar, ponsel ini dapat menjalankan multitasking secara lancar. Untuk bermain game, Samsung Galaxy A12 lancar digunakan untuk bermain game dengan tingkat grafis ringan-sedang.

Baterai

Samsung Galaxy A12 memiliki empat kamera belakang dengan desain kotak atau istilah kerennya square-typed quad camera. Komposisinya dari kiri bawah kamera utama 48MP, kamera ultra-wide 5MP, kamera macro 2MP (untuk mengambil konten objek kecil dan detail), dan kanan bawah depth-camera 2MP.

Untuk kamera depan menggunakan kamera 8 MP yang dilengkapi dengan teknologi Selfie Focus dan Smart Beauty untuk meningkatkan kualitas rekaman saat foto selfie ataupun video call.
Hasil kamera depan atau belakang cukup memuaskan pada kondisi cahaya yang terang dan terbilang baik pada kondisi minim cahaya. Saat menggunakan mode foto makanan, Samsung Galaxy A12 berhasil memperlihatkan hasilnya dengan potret foto makanan yang tampak menggiurkan.

Samsung Galaxy A12 memuaskan dari segi hemat baterai, kamera, dan penyimpanan internal yang super lega. Terlebih lagi spesifikasi tersebut bisa didapatkan dengan harga Rp 2 jutaan. Sebuah paket hemat yang hampir sempurna. Akankah lebih baik jika prosesor yang digunakan lebih mantap lagi agar dapat lancar untuk bermain game dengan grafis yang berat. Tapi ya mau bagaimana lagi mungkin penggunaan prosesor entry-level adalah jalan untuk menekan budget agar ponsel ini dapat dijual dengan harga yang relatif murah.
